Henry DonnadieuHenry Donnadieu : Saxophone, clarinet.
He joined Caroline Jazz Band in 1993.
A talented eclectic musician with generous improvisations, he finds his exuberant inspiration in musicians such as Coleman Hawkins, Lester Young, Sonny Rollins and Archie Shepp.
He is always very active in making arrangements for Caroline Jazz Band.
In the 1990s he plays with Michel Marre in several bands, for instance Cossi Anatz, Don Baltazar, as well as ‘Une anche passe’ which mixes Mediterranean music with Jazz music, a mix to be found in many a European music festival.

Currently considered as one of the best French saxophone players, he is also a devoted admirer and amateur of Charles Trénet whose songs he sings to perfection.

Francis GueroFrancis Guero : Trombone.
In 1980 he started out a professional career in Montpellier as a member of Foxtroc band.
In 1986 he contributed to the setting up of Caroline Jazz Band (named after his first born child). He left the band in 1993.
From 1989 to 1998 he performed in Paris with numerous renowned bands such as Les Rois du Swing, Swing Follies, Paris Swing Orchestra, Parad’, Formule 4, Darwin Nostradamus, Tom Cat, Les Globe-Trotters, etc.
On top of that all, he had the opportunity of performing alongside some of the greatest European jazz musicians.
He has been a student of Glenn Ferris and André Paquinet and he drew his inspiration from New Orleans trombone players such as Kid Ory, Louis Nelson, Jim Robinson, as well as Vic Dickenson, Trummy Young and Lawrence Brown, all of whom were Swing style masters in the 1940s and 1950s.

Bruno BrauBruno Brau : Guitar, banjo.
He started his professional career playing the banjo with Foxtroc band in 1982. He then participated in the setting up of Caroline Jazz Band in 1986 with which he has played ever since with constant communicative enthusiasm.
As he has got the gift of ubiquity, Bruno is everywhere and wherever you may be if you find a guitar pick on the ground, it might well belong to Bruno.
As he is a ‘multi-instrumentalist’, too, he plays the guitar, the banjo, the ukulele, the trumpet as well as the accordion and the barrel organ. He also practices tap-dancing and juggling!
He occasionally plays with famous musicians such as Marc Laferière, Maxime Saury and Roger Guérin.
A devoted disciple of Freddie Green, Charlie Christian and also BB King, one of his favourite bands remains Spike Jones’s.

Michel MozetMichel Mozet : Drums.
As early as 1987 he joined Caroline Jazz Band.
He studied drums with the Dante Agostini’s School in Paris, then with Jazz Action Montpellier and with the London Drum Tech School.
A talented drummer with many other skills, he listened to recordings by Jo Jones and Sydney Catlett as well as Art Blakey, Peter Erskine and André Ceccarelli.
Since he is an outstanding singer, he declaims Boris Vian like nobody else and is endowed with a tempo and a swing which got him the nickname of ‘Drive d’Enfer’ (‘Drive like Hellfire’).
However, playing the drum is not enough for him; Michel’s other talents include cooking, growing vegetables, doing repair work as well as construction work. With so many skills gathered in one single man, one wonders what is left to the others!

Florence ChauveauFlorence Chauveau : Singer.
She joined Caroline Jazz Band back in 1994.
After going through various musical experiments (rock music, African music with Yaounde Koussedoh band), she discovers jazz in the late 1980s.
She immediately decides to take singing lessons (classical singing) for 7 years with the Conservatoire Régional de Montpellier (Montpellier Region Music Academy) before going on with jazz lessons she studies with ‘Jazz Action Montpellier’. Simultaneously, she contributes to the creation and performance of musical shows for children.
A Gerschwin fan, she primarily remains a great admirer of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and… Magali Noël.

Yves BuffetrilleYves Buffetrille : Double bass,
sousaphone.
He is co-founder of Caroline Jazz Band in 1986. He started playing the double bass in various Bluegrass music bands; then, he joined Foxtroc band in 1985, and the year after, he became a member of Caroline Jazz Band that he has never left ever since.
A specialist of slap style (a technique that consists in slapping the string on the key to increase the sound volume of the instrument) he looks predestined to play this instrument. Indeed, both his strong ability to play combined with his permanent good nature under all circumstances perfectly match with the nature of the instrument he plays.
A great admirer of Willie Dixon and Milt Hinton’s skills as double bass players, he played for 8 years with Vintage Jazzmen band with whom he toured Louisiana (USA), playing in Baptist churches with Reverend Lucien Garrett. In May 2000 he took part in New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and performed in Preservation Hall, the mythical temple of jazz in New Orleans, Louisiana.
